The Illusion:

Sitting centre-stage is a large torture like device. Assistants are seen to be holding two solid steel spikes which are suddenly released through the sides of the contraption, smashing into anything that would be standing inside.

The Illusionist now enters and climbs into the unit as the spikes are pulled back out and placed into position once again. The assistants now shackle the illusionist by the feet, legs and hands, making it impossible for him to move free of the cabinet.

The doors are closed and the illusionist is given only a few seconds to escape before the spikes are automatically released in through the sides. Suddenly there are two pyrotechnical flashes and the spikes release too early, slamming through the sides and surely causing severe harm to whoever is still inside.

The assistants now open the doors at the front, back and sides, allowing the audience to see right through the device (See Photo ). They can see his legs, feet and head, but his body has vanished! To prove that his body has really gone, the assistants stand behind the illusion to show that the audience can really see completely through the illusion.

The doors are once again closed and the spikes removed. The doors are again opened to show that the illusionist is now back in once piece, but still

shackled inside. Released, he steps forward to the applause of the audience.
